Section
1: Project Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Reflect on, review and summarise your
progress and achievements through the first seven units of the qualification.
What skills and knowledge have you acquired? How has this influenced your
choice of pathway?
|
|||
| Throughout the seven units prior to this FMP we worked on developing our technical and soft skills for both games and animation quite evenly, however I feel that I’ve become much more familiar and adept with my skills in 2D animation in comparison to my ability to develop and design a game. This is why I felt that it would make the most sense for me to create an animation rather than a game. Plus, although I feel that a lot of knowledge that I gained in many of these units were mainly catered towards game development, due to it being a bit more of a complex topic, I can still apply everything that I’ve learnt for games in to my animation, since there are similarities in each topic’s concepts and aims. | |||
Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
Clearly
explain the core concept and aims of your project, the research and ideas that
will support its development and what you anticipate producing. What
resources will you need to realise this idea?
|
|||
| The main concept I have for this project, is an animation created using Adobe Animate, Premiere and Audition that follows a character who originally starts off the day as anyone normally would, but then ends up getting sucked in to the ground and is transported to the a much earlier state of London, more precisely, Roman Londinium. After this transportation, the character will go through a highly sped up progression of London going through its eras of history with key events made clear as the character is tossed, dragged and flung through London’s timeline all the way back in to present day where the character is positioned looking at a billboard referring to the mysteries and hopes for the future of London. I plan to make this project cover all the eras of London, mainly in a positive light, which we’ve conducted a lot of primary research on through trips and game contextual analysis. I also want the final piece to look to the possible future of London. For this project I aim to give the audience an enjoyable, immersive and bubbly experience as they view London through the eyes of the character as if they’re the ones being flung through the eras of London. | |||
Section 3: Evaluation and Reflection (Approx. 50 words)
Explain how you will
reflect on and evaluate your work, as both an ongoing activity and at the
conclusion of the project. How do you intend to record your decision-making
process and how will you document changes to your ideas as the project
progresses?
|
|||
| As I progress through this project, I plan to self-reflect, evaluate and explain the process on my Blogger page throughout the project following certain reflection templates such as “Gibb’s reflective cycle”. By the end of the project I will have provided evidence of the whole process on my blogger and I will also be ending the blogger with a self-evaluation on how I felt the project went and what could’ve been improved to attain a better result even if I feel satisfied with what I have produced. | |||
Section
4: Research Sources and Bibliography
Record any initial research sources,
both primary and secondary, that you intend to use or have already used. Your
sources of research should be as wide as possible and could include
libraries, galleries, books, magazines, films, computer games, websites,
blogs, social media, radio programmes, archive material etc. Where appropriate,
you should use the Harvard system of referencing.
